Windhoek, March 31 — The “Beyond 35: 2026 Youth Dialogue for Peace and a Prosperous Future” at Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST) was a significant event commemorating Namibia’s 36th independence anniversary by emphasizing the integral role of youth in shaping the nation’s future. With organizations like Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light (HWPL), Rob Youth Foundation Namibia and the International Youth Peace Group (IPYG) at the helm, the dialogue drew around 100 participants, including notable government officials and youth leaders. Deputy Director Boyson Ngondo, speaking for Deputy Minister Dino Ballotti, underscored the crucial role of youth as innovators amidst challenges like high unemployment and the digital divide. Mr. Muesee Kazapua from the National Youth Council highlighted efforts to provide young Namibians with developmental opportunities and outlined affiliation requirements for youth organizations. The dialogue sessions promoted the establishment of platforms for youth voices in national development, culminating in a “Youth Pledge for Nation Building” to advance peace and social progress.
