Tottenham Hotspur parts ways with Tudor after 44-day interim spell

LONDON, March 30 — Tottenham Hotspur confirmed on Sunday that Igor Tudor had left his position as interim head coach after just 44 days and seven matches in charge. The club announced that it had “mutually agreed” with the Croatian to part ways with “immediate effect”. The decision followed a heavy 3-0 home defeat to Nottingham Forest on March 22, a result that left Spurs 17th in the table, just one point above the relegation zone with seven games remaining. Tudor took over from the dismissed Thomas Frank on February 14 on a short-term deal running until the end of the season. However, results failed to improve, with Tottenham losing five of their seven matches in all competitions during his tenure. In a statement, Spurs said: “An update on a new head coach will be provided in due course.”
