Windhoek, February 02 – Vice-Chairperson of the National Council Hon. Emma Tangi Muteka, MP, opened the first orientation seminar for members of the 7th National Council on Monday with a call for principled leadership and unity to strengthen Namibia’s democracy.

Speaking at the G4 venue in Windhoek, Muteka congratulated re-elected Chairperson Hon. Lukas Sinimbo Muha on his renewed mandate, describing it as a reflection of confidence in his “leadership, wisdom, and commitment.” She expressed optimism about advancing the Council’s work under his guidance.

Muteka extended warm congratulations to the newly elected members, emphasizing that their induction goes beyond formal titles. “It is a call to service, responsibility, and national duty,” she stated, noting the current need for collaboration and foresight amid national challenges.

The Vice-Chairperson highlighted the seminar’s role in aligning members’ visions, deepening understanding of their constitutional duties, and recommitting to serve citizens with integrity and diligence. She underscored the National Council’s position as the “House of Review,” pledging to make it a responsive pillar of accountability and unity.

“May this induction empower us to lead with clarity, courage, and a shared vision for national development,” Muteka concluded, urging collective effort toward progress.

The orientation programme marks a key transition for the 7th National Council, signaling renewal and continuity in parliamentary oversight as newly elected members prepare to represent Namibian aspirations.
