MOSCOW, Dec. 16– More than 1,200 residents aged 100 and above live in Russia’s capital, including the city’s oldest woman, who is 108 years old, according to municipal authorities. As of now, about 416,700 residents aged 80 and above live in the Russian capital, including more than 60,800 people over 90 years old and over 1,200 centenarians, Moscow’s Department of Labor and Social Protection of the Population said Monday. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said in May that the city’s life expectancy has, for the first time, approached 80 years. He added that Moscow ranks among the top three regions nationwide in terms of life expectancy, according to municipal data.
