Eenhana-Sept 9-Ohangwena Athletics Club have received a massive sponsorship from MUMI Investment Managers as they are finalizing the preparation for their participation in the upcoming international championship in South Africa when they are going to lock horn with best athletes from across Africa in Potchefstroom SA on the 20-21 October 2023 . The team has received T-shirts and Shoes to the value of N$ 23542.89. The attires will be used by the team to look formal and identical in SA and also to portray the team bond and Unity. Upon receiving the news, the team marketing manager could not hold his tears as this have helped to build the moral of the team on its preparation. This has been portrayed by the team at the just concluded Pupkewitz championship in Swakopmund as all athletes going to participate in Swakopmund improved tremendously on their time and this is a boost to us. We really want to thank the whole management of MUMI particularly Mr. Mike Mukete for seeing it fit to support the upcoming athletes and mostly athletes from deep down villages to make sure they realize and pursue their talent.
This team have talent and we are truly looking forward to representing Ohangwena Region and Namibia in SA. We are really preparing very hard, and we want to make sure we pay back the loyalty MUMI INVESTMENT MANAGERS have shown on us by giving us this major Sponsorship. This is the second time the team is receiving boost after the team have just received running gears from KONGALEND FINANCIAL SERVICES.
We are truly honored to receive this sponsorship and the whole team have responded positively by dominating the Pupkewitz championship and we have dedicated the winning in Swakopmund to MUMI INVESTMENT MANAGERS AND KONGALEND FINANCIAL SERVICES.
Even though we have received this big boost , the team is strugling to get transport to travel to SA as the request we have send to the directorate of Sport to help us with transport did not yield any fruit as we have been told they ministry only support the National Teams not clubs . The athletes are curently strugling to solicit funds from parents to enable the team to travel as they have received the quotation of N$ 35190.00 for accomodation and food and N$ 48,000.00 for transport on the private bus as the team consists of 12 Athletes and 4 Officials .
We are therefore humbly requesting from samaritans to help where they can to enable these talented athlete to make a grade in SA as we are focusing on qualifying two to three athletes for the upcoming Youth Olympics in senegal come 2026. All the athlete that we have and are currently making a big grade are aged from 12- 16 years of age . We realy feel this is the best time to groom these athletes to a greater height and base of the sponsoship we are receiving this will truly help to mature the talents of these athletes .
We are optimistic that God is with us in this preparation and hope he will touch the hearts of Samaritans so that we can be able to get fund to enable us to travel to these important games that we see and regard as the steppingstones to the young athletes on perusing their best carrier.
