HARARE, Nov. 18 — Zimbabwe and Mozambique will jointly convene a business forum to boost bilateral cooperation in various sectors, ZimTrade, Zimbabwe’s trade promotion agency, said Tuesday. Business organizations from the two sides will benefit from new opportunities when the Mozambique-Zimbabwe Business Forum convenes on Saturday in Maputo, the capital of Mozambique, ZimTrade said in a statement. ZimTrade Chief Executive Officer Allan Majuru said the forum gives the Zimbabwean private sector a platform to establish practical partnerships and engage directly with potential business partners in Mozambique. “We see this forum as an opportunity to open new markets for our exporters while providing a structured avenue for investors from both countries to collaborate on manufacturing, logistics and value-added production,” he said. Majuru noted that the meeting directly supports the Zimbabwean government’s foreign policy thrust, which emphasizes that foreign engagements must deliver measurable economic outcomes. “This forum supports that priority by connecting Zimbabwean businesses to regional value chains and promoting collaborative ventures with Mozambican counterparts,” he added.
