Windhoek ā Her Excellency Dr. Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, President of the Republic of Namibia will preside over the first Namibia Public-Private Forum (NamPPF) from 23 to 24 October 2025. This event will unite key government bodies and top private sector organizations for a high-level, solution-focused dialogue.
The annual forum is designed to foster practical collaboration between the public and private sectors to tackle Namibiaās economic challenges. Its primary goals include boosting the countryās competitiveness and simplifying the business environment to encourage investment and job creation. By institutionalizing public-private dialogue, the NamPPF aims to stimulate economic growth, build mutual trust, and speed up reforms that support employment, business expansion, global competitiveness, and inclusive prosperity.
Approved by Cabinet on 17 September 2024, the NamPPF is overseen by a Coordinating Committee with balanced representation: six major public institutions and six leading private and social sector associations. The committee is chaired by Dr. Nangula Nelulu Uaandja, CEO of the Namibia Investment Promotion and Development Board, with Titus Nampala, CEO of the Namibia Chamber of Commerce and Industry, serving as Vice Chairperson.
Under the theme āPublic-Private Dialogue to Drive Decent and Sustainable Job Creation: Enhancing Namibiaās Competitiveness,ā the forum aligns with the 8th Administrationās transformative agenda and the 6th National Development Plan (NDP6). It seeks to promote development, address unemploymentāincluding a national rate of 36.9% and youth unemployment of 44.1%āand improve livelihoods across Namibia. The theme underscores the vital partnership between government and the private sector to create evidence-based, collaborative policy responses.
The program features high-level panel discussions and sector-specific working groups composed of representatives from government, private sector, civil society, unions, and academia. These groups will identify challenges and propose solutions, which will be presented to the President during the forum.
Expected outcomes of the NamPPF include strengthened public-private trust, a platform for the private sector to highlight constraints, and the establishment of monitoring systems for tracking reform implementation. The forum will produce evidence-based strategic papers with clear, actionable recommendations aligned with national economic priorities, overseen by the National Planning Commission.
Participation from private and social sectors is organized at the association level to ensure broad inclusivity and effective communication with members, leaving no stakeholder behind.
