Her Excellency Lucia Witbooi, Vice President of the Republic of Namibia, will participate in the fourth Intra-Africa Trade Fair (IATF2025), scheduled from 4 September to 7 September 2025 in Algiers, Republic of Algeria.
His Excellency Mr. Abdelmajid Tebboune, President of the Republic of Algeria, extended an invitation to Her Excellency Dr. Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, President of the Republic of Namibia, who delegated Her Excellency Lucia Witbooi, Vice President of the Republic of Namibia, to represent her at this event.
The event is organised by the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank), in collaboration with the African Union (AU) Commission and the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) Secretariat, and will be held under the theme “A Gateway to New Opportunities”.
This trade fair will be attended by Heads of State and Government, Ministers, senior government officials, businesses including Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), buyers, sellers, traders and investors, and captains of industries, among others, from around the globe.The AfCFTA is expected to boost intra-African trade significantly over the coming years. Increasing intra-African trade can foster industrialisation,promote value addition, create jobs, and enhance competitiveness on the global stage.
Additionally, IATF2025 will provide a unique and valuable platform for businesses to access an integrated African market of over 1.4 billion people with a GDP of over US$3.5 trillion created under the African Continental Free Trade Area.
This event will provide Namibia with an opportunity to form partnerships with other African countries to enhance economic activities across the continent and beyond.
The Vice President will depart on Monday, 1 September 2025, and return on Monday, 8 September 2025
